Known Issue: May Payroll Discrepancies and Corrections
During May payroll processing, an issue impacting academic base bay for 9-month employees with mid-month pay changes or terminations occurred. As a result, some employees were either overpaid or underpaid for the May pay period. In addition, a second issue was identified in which employees classified as Nonresident Aliens (NRAs) for US tax purposes were incorrectly subject to Medicare and SERP deductions.
The Human Resources payroll team worked diligently to investigate these issues and implement a solution.
- Pay discrepancies for 9-month employees with mid-month changes or terminations will be corrected with June payroll, resulting in adjusted take-home pay for these individuals. Employees who are receiving a pay reversal or overpayment adjustment in June will receive a separate notification with additional details.
- Pay discrepancies for NRAs exempt from Medicare and SERP will be manually processed beginning July 1, 2026 as off-cycle payrolls, with refunds issued via direct deposit no later than July 10, 2026.
